Tonight’s wholesome fare …… Serves 2 at 450 cals per portion
Hungarian Beef Goulash
450g good braising steak
1 tbsp sunflower oil
1 giant onion or 2 medium lower into wedges
1 garlic clove, crushed
1 tsp scorching smoked paprika
half tbsp paprika
1 beef inventory dice, oxo is ideal
300 ml chilly water
200g chopped tin tomatoes
1 tbsp tomato purée
1 bay leaf
1 pink pepper
1 orange pepper
Salt and pepper
Low fats creme fraiche
Warmth oven to 150’c, lower the meat into chunks, season with salt and pepper.
Add oil in s giant flameproof casserole dish Fry over excessive warmth till browned, turning usually then add onion wedges and cook dinner for five minutes, add the garlic and sprinkle each paprika’s over the meat and crumble the oxo dice.
Add the water, tomatoes, purée and bay leaf, stir properly and convey to a simmer.
Cowl with tight becoming lid and switch to oven, cook dinner for 1 and half hours.
Chop peppers into chunks and put aside, after
the meat cooked for 11/2 hours add peppers and stir, return to oven with lid on and cook dinner for additional 1 hour.
The meat ought to be tender…
Serve with rice and a facet of lettuce and spoon of low fats creme fraiche.
